Lyrical Assassination
The world of poetry as we knew it has evolved and expanded, to keep up with the rest of the world. No more Shakespearean style poetry, the eloquent process of poetry has changed directions, becoming less boring and more vibrant. We no longer live in a world and time of "thee and thou" and where poetic talents bring forth prestigious fame. Today's world is more of "ay and yo" and the multi-million dollar profits made off of rhyming.
Lyrical Assassination is the quest to become the best rapper alive. It is the central aspect of all emcees and as the rap world becomes larger and more diverse, lyrical assassination becomes more and more of a challenge. The game will only grow harder as it becomes populated with starving competition. Students interested in being blinged out for the rest of their lives will find this major interesting. We gear students interested in rapping towards the art of free styling and battling. It is important for each student to also be able to writes rhymes.
Record labels and music producers are always looking for talented people schooled in the game of lyrical assassination. Each year more people begin rewarding careers in Rapping, the field of the future.
Rhyming 120
This course offers the essentials to learning how to write rhymes. It takes a look into the works of Snoop Dogg, 50 cent, and Jay-Z, all of which are prominent artists in the rap game. Other than learning the art of rhyming words, this course also analyzes the works of rap artists. We offer this course in fall, spring and summer both days and nights. This course is a three credit course and a pre requisite to free styling 208.
Free styling 208
No pens or paper is needed for this course. Everything presented in this course come straight from your head, not from a piece of paper not from your notes, not even off your memory. This course teaches the art of free styling. Students will engage in non violent lyrical battling. This course will show students the techniques to be able to drop slick and witty lines at the drop of a dime. Students face off in freestyle battles that in the end will prove that he or she is a lyrical assassinator.
